I knew early on that oral health was my passion. I landed my first job in dentistry as a senior in high school and never looked back. I completed my dental hygiene education and training through Phoenix College and Northern Arizona University. As a dental hygienist, I often saw recurring dental problems with little to no resolution such as TMJ pain, teeth grinding, malocclusion, mouth breathing, chronic gum disease, and more. At the time, I was unaware that many of these issues could be connected to a common root cause, improper muscle function.
Through continuing education courses, I was introduced to the world of oromyofunctional therapy and the many benefits it can offer. That’s when I discovered that my own daughter’s teeth grinding was actually a sign of airway obstruction. Her oromyofunctional disorder (OMD) is what propelled me into the field and began my myofunctional therapy journey. I’m deeply passionate about airway health because proper breathing isn’t just important, it’s life! When we’re able to breathe the right way, we unlock the body’s natural ability to heal, grow, and thrive.
I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and absolutely love what the painted desert has to offer. My family and I recently embarked on a new adventure, relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina. While the Grand Canyon State will always hold a special place in my heart, I’m excited to explore everything the East Coast has to offer.
I currently live just outside of Charlotte with my husband and our beautiful twin daughters. In my free time, you’ll find me enjoying the outdoors, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
